drop #3 who are Ty and Frank?

in this episode:

Ty:

  • Grew up in Fremont, NE
  • From an all white community
  • Found the Lord during his senior year of high school
  • Attended graduate school in San Bernardino, CA
  • Met Robert C Smith, “Some day I’m going to take you to the ghetto to show you real ministry”
  • Boys Town
  • Flanagan High
  • Discovered my own racism, prejudice attitudes
  • Hope Center for Kids started in October of 1998

Frank:

  • Started attending Hope as a boy
  • Frank lived in the Hope Center neighborhood

Ty and Frank knew each other but only in passing:

2 years ago, Ty approached Frank regarding getting together for a weekly lunch and to read the Bible.  Ty was blessed and impressed by Frank’s insight to gang life.  Ty approached Frank regarding the possibility of doing a podcast about life in the “hood”

Wordz target audience:

  1. Those outside the inner city…that they might gain a greater understanding of the life and heart of those in a gang
  2. Those in the inner city…that they might have a voice, platform to have their voice heard

Hopefully the communities will be able to have a dialogue through Wordz
